Hyundai Motor India Partners with Charge Zone for EV Chargers

Hyundai Motor India has partnered with Charge Zone to install DC 60 kW fast chargers at 100 dealerships across India . Here are some key points about the partnership:

Strategic Move: The partnership aims to address range anxiety and boost customer preference for electric mobility through an enhanced EV charging network .

Installation of Chargers: Charge Zone will install DC 60 kW fast chargers at 100 Hyundai dealerships, in addition to the existing 19 dealerships with DC 60 kW public EV charging stations .

Access to Chargers: The charging stations will be accessible through the 'myHyundai' app or the 'ChargeZone' app, and will be available to all EV users, not just Hyundai customers .

Broader EV Strategy: The partnership is part of Hyundai's broader EV strategy, which includes installing DC 180 kW and DC 60 kW chargers across India, and operating 15 fast-charging stations across key cities and highways in nine Indian states ¹.

Charging Management System: Hyundai has also developed a dedicated Charging Management System (CMS) platform, "EV Charge," integrated within the "myHyundai" mobile app, which enables EV users to locate charging points, book charging slots, monitor remotely, and make digital payments .

Jae Wan Ryu of HMIL stated, “Strengthening EV charging infrastructure is crucial for promoting electric mobility and addressing range anxiety. Our partnership with ChargeZone will enhance our EV charging network, benefiting all EV users and supporting India's carbon neutrality goals.”

Kartikey Hariyani of ChargeZone emphasised, “Our collaboration with Hyundai aims to improve infrastructure for 4-Wheeler Electric Vehicles (BEVs), ensuring reliable and seamless access to charging stations.”
